WHEN YOUR MIND WON’T SWITCH OFF
-
Anxiety can affect your thoughts, sleep, concentration, body and everyday functioning.
Support depends on its severity and underlying causes. Evidence-based treatment for anxiety disorders can include psychotherapy, regular physical activity, adequate sleep, meditation, relaxation techniques and yoga or yoga therapy programs may also help manage anxiety and stress.
We offer individual and personalised Yoga Therapy for Anxiety Management.
Meditation, breathing practices, relaxation and Sound Therapy can also be used separately or alongside Yoga Therapy to support greater calm and self-regulation. The approach is shaped around your symptoms, circumstances and capacity rather than following one standard routine.

Trying to force thoughts to stop often creates another struggle with the mind. A more useful starting point is learning to recognise when thinking has shifted from productive problem-solving into repetitive worry or rumination.
Practices that train attention and awareness can help you notice thoughts without automatically following every one of them. Meditation, mindfulness and relaxation techniques can also help reduce stress and create greater distance from habitual mental patterns.
To manage mind movement we combine attention training, meditation, breathing, adapted movement, relaxation and yogic psychology to explore recurring patterns and develop a more conscious relationship with the mind.

A busy mind is often easier to work with indirectly than by commanding yourself to “stop thinking.”
Slowing the breath, relaxing muscular tension, reducing stimulation and deliberately bringing attention into the present can help shift the body and mind toward a calmer state.
Yogic meditation, mindfulness, progressive muscle relaxation and breathing practices are among the approaches used for stress management and relaxation.
In personalised yoga therapy, we identify which methods actually help you settle. For one person this may be breathing and movement; for another it may be guided relaxation, meditation or structured work with recurring thoughts.

Managing professional stress requires more than occasional relaxation. It can involve examining workload, priorities, boundaries, recovery, sleep and the internal patterns that keep the stress response active even when work has stopped.
Stress-management approaches can include problem-solving, prioritising important tasks, developing healthier coping strategies, physical activity and relaxation practices such as breathing, meditation and yoga.
We work one-to-one with professionals and people carrying significant responsibility. We explore both physiological regulation and the patterns behind chronic internal pressure, then develop practices that are realistic within your actual working life.

Anxiety does not always have an obvious trigger. Stress, lack of sleep, prolonged pressure, health factors and habitual patterns of worry can all contribute to feeling anxious even when there seems to be no immediate reason.
Yoga Therapy can help you explore how anxiety shows up in your body, breathing, thoughts and daily patterns. Depending on your needs, support may include individual Yoga Therapy, breathing practices, meditation, deep relaxation or Sound Therapy, as well as a longer personalised Anxiety Management Programme.

WHEN LIFE FEELS TOO MUCH
-
Recovery from burnout is rarely about simply taking a few days off. Prolonged workplace stress can be associated with exhaustion, reduced motivation, difficulty concentrating, sleep problems and a growing sense of detachment from work.
Recovery may require identifying the sources of chronic pressure and changing the conditions or behaviours that continually recreate it. This can include workload, boundaries, expectations, recovery time, sleep, lifestyle and patterns of overextension.
Our personalised Burnout Recovery Program combines restorative practices, relaxation, meditation, adapted movement, reflection and lifestyle guidance while exploring the patterns contributing to sustained pressure.
Persistent exhaustion should also be medically assessed, as fatigue can have causes unrelated to stress or burnout.

-
Physical exhaustion and the ability to relax are not necessarily the same thing. Long periods of stress can leave you tired while your mind remains active and your body continues to carry tension.
Relaxation techniques such as slower breathing, meditation, progressive muscle relaxation and restorative yoga can help reduce some of the physical and mental effects of stress. These methods work best as skills that are practised regularly rather than something used only when stress becomes overwhelming.
In yoga therapy, we have created a specialised Burnout Recovery Program where we work gradually with breathing, restorative movement, guided relaxation and meditation to help rebuild the capacity to move from activation toward rest.
Unexplained or persistent fatigue deserves medical assessment to rule out other causes.

A difficult decision often becomes harder when facts, fear, urgency, expectations and imagined future consequences become mixed together.
A useful process is to separate what you know from what you assume, identify what is actually within your control, clarify your values and notice whether fear or external expectations are dominating your judgement.
We use meditation, yogic psychology, self-observation and guided reflection to create space between automatic reactions and conscious decision-making. Our Breakthrough Programme and private retreats can provide dedicated time for this work.
The objective is not to make the decision for you. It is to help create the clarity from which you can make your own decision.

Major transitions — whether chosen or unexpected — can disrupt routines, relationships, identity and your sense of certainty. Even positive changes can create significant stress.
Rather than immediately trying to eliminate discomfort, it can help to establish stability, distinguish what can and cannot be controlled, maintain supportive routines and create time to understand what the transition means for you.
Personalised yoga therapy can combine movement, breathing, meditation, relaxation, yogic psychology and reflection to support both regulation and deeper exploration during periods of change.

Feeling overwhelmed can happen when ongoing stress, responsibilities, emotional pressure or major changes exceed your current capacity to digest, recover and adapt. It may affect memory, concentration, energy, sleep and your ability to make decisions.
Yoga Wellness Therapy offers individual Yoga Therapy for immediate support and longer personalised programmes when stress, exhaustion or recurring patterns need deeper attention. Meditation, breathing practices and deep relaxation can also be used separately to help restore balance and create mental space.

WHEN YOU CAN’T SLEEP
-
Being exhausted does not automatically mean the brain and body are ready for sleep. Stress, anxiety, irregular sleep schedules, caffeine, alcohol, medications, medical conditions and learned sleep patterns can all interfere with falling asleep or staying asleep.
For persistent insomnia, cognitive behavioural therapy for insomnia (CBT-I) is generally considered a first-line treatment. Relaxation techniques, breathing exercises and changes to sleep habits can also form part of a broader approach.
We have developed a Yoga Therapy program that addresses stress, physical tension and difficulty transitioning from activity into rest.
If sleep problems persist for weeks, repeatedly affect daytime functioning or occur despite good sleep habits, they should be discussed with a healthcare professional.

-
A consistent transition into sleep can help the mind and body recognise that the active part of the day is ending.
Reducing stimulation before bed, maintaining a regular sleep schedule and using relaxation techniques can be helpful. Breathing exercises, meditation, gentle yoga and progressive muscle relaxation may reduce anxiety and muscular tension at bedtime.
In yoga therapy, we have developed a short personalised evening practice rather than adding a complicated routine that becomes another obligation.
The objective is not to force yourself to sleep, but to create conditions that support the natural transition toward sleep.

Stress and sleep can reinforce each other: stress can make it harder to sleep, while insufficient sleep can affect mood, concentration, energy and the ability to cope with stress.
Begin by addressing both sides of the pattern. Maintain consistent sleep and waking times, reduce late-day stimulants, create a quieter pre-sleep period and work directly with the stress or anxiety that continues into the evening.
Meditation, breathing practices, relaxation and gentle yoga may be useful complementary tools. At Yoga Wellness Therapy we have incorporated these into an individual programme addressing the broader stress pattern rather than treating sleep as an isolated symptom.
Persistent insomnia or significant anxiety should be assessed by an appropriate healthcare professional.

Healthy sleep is influenced by what happens throughout the entire day, not only during the final minutes before bed.
A consistent sleep-wake schedule, regular physical activity, limiting caffeine after 3pm, reducing excessive evening stimulation and creating a quiet, dark and comfortable sleep environment can support better sleep. Relaxation practices such as meditation, breathing exercises, progressive muscle relaxation and gentle yoga may also help.
For ongoing insomnia, however, “natural” does not necessarily mean that self-help alone is sufficient. CBT-I is an established treatment for chronic insomnia, and persistent sleep problems may require medical evaluation.
Yoga therapy can complement appropriate care by helping you develop personalised relaxation, meditation and lifestyle practices that support sleep.

A regular sleep schedule, less stimulation before bed, a comfortable sleep environment and practices that help the body and mind relax can make it easier to transition into sleep.
Yoga Wellness Therapy offers individual Yoga Therapy, breathing practices, meditation, deep relaxation and Sound Therapy to support relaxation and healthier sleep routines. For recurring stress or anxiety that interferes with sleep, a longer personalised Yoga Therapy programme may be more appropriate.

FIND THE RIGHT SUPPORT FOR YOU

Where can I find personalised help for anxiety, stress or burnout?
Yoga Wellness Therapy offers private, one-to-one support for anxiety, chronic stress, burnout, overthinking, sleep difficulties and challenging life transitions.
There is no standard protocol. We first explore what you are experiencing, how it affects your daily life, what may be maintaining the pattern and what you would like to change. From there, we create an individual approach that may combine adapted movement, breathing, meditation, deep relaxation, yogic psychology and lifestyle guidance.
Depending on the level of support you need, this can take the form of a one-time Yoga Therapy session, a personalised Yoga Therapy programme or a private retreat.

Yes. Not everyone needs a full Yoga Therapy programme.
You can choose meditation, breathing practices, deep relaxation or Sound Therapy as individual practices when your main goal is relaxation, stress reduction, greater mental clarity or learning a specific technique.
If your difficulties are persistent or interconnected, we may recommend combining these practices within a more comprehensive Yoga Therapy approach.

The right format depends on what you are experiencing and how deeply you want to work with it.

Choose a private retreat when you need dedicated time away from everyday demands. Meditation, breathing, relaxation and Sound Therapy can also be booked as individual practices.

A private Yoga Therapy session is a good starting point when you want to understand a specific concern, receive personalised guidance and learn practices you can continue independently.
A Yoga Therapy programme is designed for challenges that require more time and continuity — such as persistent anxiety, chronic stress, burnout, recurring thought patterns or significant life changes. The work develops over time and is adjusted as your needs and capacity change.
You do not need to decide in advance. We can recommend an appropriate starting point after discussing what you are experiencing.
